Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create a free QR code?

Enter your content (URL, text, WiFi, vCard, event, SMS, email or phone), customize colors and size, and click "Download PNG" or "Download SVG". It's completely free with no registration.

What types of content can I encode?

URL — links to websites.
Text — any plain text.
WiFi — network name, password and security type (customers scan and connect).
vCard — digital business card with name, phone, email, company and website.
Event — calendar event with date, time, location and description.
SMS — pre-filled message to a phone number.
Email — address with pre-filled subject and body.
Phone — number with international prefix.

What is a vCard QR code?

A vCard QR code contains contact information (name, phone, email, company, website, address). When scanned, the contact is automatically added to the phone's address book. Perfect for business cards, trade shows and networking events.

Do generated QR codes expire?

No. Static QR codes directly contain the data and never expire. As long as the content (e.g. the URL) remains valid, the QR code works forever.

What's the difference between PNG and SVG?

PNG — raster image with fixed size (256-1024px). Ideal for web, social media and email.
SVG — vector format that scales without quality loss. Ideal for professional print, graphic design and large formats.

What is the error correction level?

It determines how much of the QR code can be damaged and still be readable:
L (7%) — for digital QR codes in ideal conditions.
M (15%) — general use, good balance (default).
Q (25%) — for print on materials that may get scratched.
H (30%) — maximum resilience, ideal if you want to add a logo in the center.

Can I print the QR code?

Yes. For printing use the 1024x1024 size (PNG) or download as SVG for unlimited quality. SVG is perfect for flyers, business cards, menus and large-format posters.

Can I add my logo to the QR code?

Yes. Upload an image (PNG, JPG or SVG) using the "Upload logo" button. The logo is automatically centered in the QR code with a white background. Error correction is set to maximum (H — 30%) to ensure scannability.

Can I create a WhatsApp QR code?

Yes. Select the "WhatsApp" tab, enter the phone number with country code and an optional pre-filled message. Anyone who scans the QR will open a WhatsApp chat with you directly.

What dot styles are available?

Square — classic style with square modules.
Rounded — modules with rounded corners for a modern look.
Dots — circular modules for a softer design.
Diamond — diamond/rhombus-shaped modules.
Classy — modules with one rounded corner for a refined look.

Can I customize the eye patterns?

Yes. The “eyes” are the three large squares at the corners of the QR code. You can choose from 4 styles: Square (classic), Rounded, Circle, and Leaf. Eye style is independent of dot style for maximum customization.

Can I get a transparent background?

Yes. Enable the “Transparent background” option and the QR code will be generated with a transparent background, ideal for overlaying on images, flyers, or custom designs. The downloaded PNG will preserve transparency.

How do I create a gradient QR code?

Enable the “Gradient” checkbox in the color section. A second color picker will appear for the end color. The gradient is applied diagonally from the QR color to the end color, creating an elegant, professional look. It works with all dot styles and exports correctly in SVG format too.

Can I use a different color for the QR code eyes?

Yes. Enable “Custom” in the “Eye color” section and choose an independent color for the three corner squares. Combined with gradients and dot styles, you can create unique, professional QR code designs.
